John 15:1-5 The Vine and the Branches Summary: Have you ever worked in a garden or do you have plants that grow in your home? The branches of a plant stay healthy when they are connected to the main trunk or vine of a plant. Of course gardeners often clip parts off a plant and replant them, but if you cut off a branch and leave it, it will eventually die. Jesus used the image of the vine and the branches to help us understand our need for him. He said,
