Miscellaneous: Lloyd Earnest Payne - Farming

Lloyd started his life on a farm in Colorado and eventually began to raise his own family on a farm in the same area. Lloyd does remember using horse teams and plows to work in the fields. His first tractor was a John Deere Model A which came out in 1944. They raised cows and chickens on the farm. Common crops included corn, wheat, wheat cane/millet mix, and popcorn for feed. In the mid 1950's Lloyd made the decision to leave farming and an auction was held.
