Ephesians 5:3 – 6 A Radically Different Community Summary: One of the things that makes us different as Christians is the things we love. We are called to love purity and be radically different from the world- to love the things that God loves and hate the things that God hates. The problem is that we don't always do that! Often we love things that are sinful and even laugh about things that don't honor God. Let's think about four ways life should be totally transformed because of Jesus: 1.Two characteristics of a radically different community: a. Above reproach: immorality replaced by radical purity b. Gracious speech: Careless words replaced by thanksgiving 2.Three motivators to spur us on: a. A holy calling b. A great inheritance c. A just Judge Verse: Ephesians 5:4 Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.
