Title: Lord of the Sabbath Text: Matthew 12:1-8 Summary: Why do we go to all this trouble to get up early and come to church on Sunday? Why do we have worship services every week and spend all this time with God's people? Jesus tells us in our sermon passage that this is a day for us to focus on God's kingdom. From the beginning God created one whole day to bless us and help us to focus on Him! God loves us so much that he provided this day of worship (Saturday for the Jews in the Old Testament, but Sundays for us) so we could grow close to our Savior. The best thing we can do is to spend one whole day with God! Today in our Bible passage Jesus speaks with religious leaders who misunderstand the Sabbath. Let's listen in today and see how this wonderful day is to be the best day of our week:
