Lent is the 40 day period before Easter. It begins with Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Thursday. During Lent, we must pray and prepare for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is celebrated on Easter Sunday. The Church is decorated in purple during Lent and adults do not eat meat on Fridays.
