The Hatred of the World
Summary:
The words we will hear from Jesus today might be hard, because they are about hatred. Jesus does not tell us to hate anyone, but to expect that there will be people in the world who will hate Christians because of their faith in Jesus. The Christian life is hard sometimes because of this, and he does not want us to be surprised when it happens. But why does this happen, and can we respond in love to the world's hatred? Let's think about it:

Verse: John 15:18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.

1. According to his words in John 15:18-25, How does Jesus prepare us for such hatred when it happens?
2. Why does the world hate Jesus and those who follow him so deeply?
3. In what sense would those who saw Jesus and heard his teaching not have been guilty of sin before he came? Does that mean they were not sinners, or would not have been condemned had he not come?
4. What would it look like for you to respond to the world's hatred with godliness?
