John 9:1-12
Eyes Opened for the Glory of God
Summary: Do you know someone who is blind? Think for a moment of all the special challenges for someone whose eyes do not work. Today in John 9 we'll see Jesus healing a man who was blind from birth. Can you imagine how amazing it would have been for this man to see for the first time? Let's see Jesus' power as this man is healed:
1. The glory of God in our suffering
2. The light of Jesus in our darkness
2. The power of God in our weakness
Verse: John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
Questions for devotions and family worship:
1. In John 9 the disciples asked Jesus who sinned that this man was born blind. Why would they ask this? What is the view of God that this reveals?
2. What was Jesus' answer to their question (v.3)? How does this help us understand at least some of God's purposes for our sufferings in this life?
