John 5:18-30 The Astounding Claims of Jesus Summary: Have you ever made a bold claim that you couldn't back up? Maybe you said you could beat someone in a race, or win at a game, only to end up losing. Jesus made amazing claims as well. He told people that he was equal with God! This made many religious people angry enough to kill him. But the wonderful news is that Jesus' bold claim is actually true. Let's listen in to Jesus' own words today in John 5: For Jesus, to be equal with God means that he has: 1. A deep union with the father 2. Saving power to grant us eternal life 3. Authority to judge all mankind Verse: John 5:24a Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. Questions for devotions and family worship: 1.
