Genesis 13
Walking By Faith and Not By Sight
Summary: Imagine if someone offered you a choice between two gifts - one was a beautiful house in a perfect location, and the other was piece of dry and dusty desert. Which would you choose? Most of us might choose the house. What if you learned that the house came with a very mean and dangerous person living there? Would you still want it? Maybe not. You may want to choose the land that doesn’t appear as good on the surface, but doesn’t have the danger hidden inside. Today we’ll talk about such a moment in Abram and Lot’s life. Let’s think about what it means to live by faith and not by sight:
Outline:
1. The problem: difficulties in our lives can tempt us to walk by sight
2. The solution: walking by faith means trusting God even when there appears to be an easier path
3. The blessing: God holds out a greater reward than what we can see with our eyes
Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:7 …For we walk by faith, not by sight.
