Ephesians 2:8-9
Grace Upon Grace
Summary:
Today we're going to talk about the most important subject any of us could think of: How can we be saved? Sin has created a deep canyon between us and God so that we can't know him by our own strength or good works. So how can we know Him? Paul tells us: God must give us His grace and the gift of faith so we can trust in Jesus as our Savior! Let's think about it:
Outline:
1. How are we saved?
a. Grace is the root
b. Faith is the instrument
2. How to be condemned:
a. Believe that salvation comes from within yourself
b. Work as though salvation depended on you
3. Why is salvation all of grace? So would boast in God alone
Verse: Ephesians 2:8–9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
