God uses his word to bring us to faith and to change us so that we become more like Jesus. Because the Bible is so important for us, today we will learn that God wants us to do two things whenever we hear it. First, we should pay close attention to it. Second, we should do what it says. Answer: That the word may become effectual to salvation, we must attend thereunto with diligence,1 preparation,2 and prayer;3 receive it with faith and love,4 lay it up in our hearts,5 and practice it in our lives.6
